WATCH CODE GEASS HERE!!

WARNING! SPOILERS!!!

Here's the place to discuss this great anime and the questions that followed.

And of course, this is the place to debate on the greatest question : Is he alive in the end?

-------------------

Here's my take on this...

It would be a greater end if he would die.
It's more dramatic and all, and for all the Lelouch-Shirley can argue that they are reunited in the dead

But, IMO, with all the hints everywhere, I think he lived.
I could list all the hints, but I don't feel like it right now, and most of you must already know them.
And I must say I like the Lelouch-CC pairing more than Lelouch-Shirley :D

(Even if nothing would beat the Lelouch-Kallen pairing in my heart... too bad it never happened :'( :'( )

So, what do you guys think?

Btw, you can also discussed other stuff related to the anime. :P :P

He lived. I straight up refuse to believe anything else, regardless of the available facts. He lived and so did Shirley, at least in my brain.

I really liked Code Geass and I thought Lelouche was a great character (even though at the start of it I thought it was meh). For me though, he's absolutely dead. That's a part of what made him so awesome. I think he can really be compared to Light Yagami, except his death was grander, more profound, and entirely more respectful than Light's. Can't say that makes it better than the end of Death Note though, since the absolute lack of meaning of it all in DN was what made the ending so powerful in the first place. Then again, I have to say that while I thought the ending was sad in Code Geass, it was more fulfilling than the end of Death Note.

It did kind of irk me that Lelouche, being so desired by so many woman, never even had a REAL romance through the whole thing. The little parts with Shirley were cool, and it was always fun to see sexual tension between him and CC, but for me the best "romantic" part was when he was about to shoot himself with Refrain and threw himself at Kallen for comfort. And that was not very romantic really, but it showed that he was interested in her, and then nothing really came of it.

Bah. I'm beginning to think it is impossible for Japanese writers to add decent romance to an action story without it being lame or "barely there". And stories WITH romance are...well, I'll just say that the girly bullshit romance animes are not to my taste. Is it just me or is romance in manga and anime horrifically flawed and beyond repair?

Too bad for Lelouche. He probably died a virgin. <___<

Yeah, I agree.
The romance was lacking in this anime.

And I agree that the part when he ask Kallen to ""confort" him because that's what women do", was one of the best part IMO.

To, me I tried to think of it as if Lelouch had 3 differents parts :
Lelouch loved Shirley
Zero wanted Kallen
R2 (if he did became one of them) will be with CC forever :P

So every shippers would be happy!! :D

But, honestly, through what is shown in the Anime, I think he loved Shirley all along...

I do sort of think he was in love with Shirley, or at least the part of him that wanted to be normal wanted to love her, but he wanted to bang Kallen, and as far as CC, well, yeah he probably did have somewhat of a thing for her too, but more like he wanted her to want him because she seemed to disinterested.
Edited first post to include a link to the anime episodes online.

Fucking big news!!!!

They are making a sequel to Code Geass!!!!
http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/12/06/new-code-geass-project-announced/

I'm not sure if it's a good news or not, though, since the ending was so perfect!!

Most likely, it will be a prequel... (maybe inspired from the manga that were written after the anime)...
Or maybe it will be in the same place, with CC but with another guy/girl with the Geass power... I wonder...

But, it's certainly something that I'll watch!!

I'll be watching too.

I wouldn't even mind if they decided to start with mostly or entirely new cast of characters.

The only scenarios where i would not like this is if they switched the main character to somebody more like Suzaku(brawn over brains) or if they slowed down the pace. If either of those things happened i'd be pissed off. The last thing the world needs is another gundam clone. :tears:

Oh yeah, this should go without saying but...... i also don't want to see any @#$@ING POP SINGERS!!! Female characters suddenly bursting into song that is magically heard across the world is incredibly gay no matter how you slice it.

------------------------

It's good to know i have an anime i can look forward to. Lately, i haven't watched any. Not since the big let down that was Darker Than Black season 2.(I wish i could unwatch that crap)

I'm totally watching it. I do hope that they don't do some crap like the manga and have it be like "The Knightmare of Nunnally" or some crap. I didn't even read more than like a a chapter of that...XP Well, maybe I'm being to harsh since I haven't read it...but I always hated her, so I didn't want to. <___<

I don't know though, I'll be a little disgruntled if it doesn't have anything to do with Lelouch because I totally loved him. <3 He's everything I could want from a protagonist and he didn't even go out like a bitch like Light did.

I never liked Suzaku either, but I do wonder if he continued on the name of Zero, and also whatever became of CC and Kallen. I actually liked both of those chicks.
